hi Andy, can you please help me in solving and explain this question as this came twice in my test and i failed no of times by one or 2 mark. Question is :

a group of 32 students are going to a theme park. The coach costs £288. The entrance to the theme park was £16, but there was a special offer of for every 10 people 1 goes free. Considering teachers go for free how much did did each pupil need to pay?

there was choices of answers ( 21.50,23.50,22,25)...

please please help me in solving this .

Thank you so much.

and also

1/2 + 1/4 as a percentage would be 75%... is this right ?

Thank you so much Andy for your help!

I solved this question with answer of 23.50 as well , but I am unable to understand how come we ll get 3 tkts free and then pay for 29 because offer says 1 tkt free for every 10 tkts ,so if we buy 30 tkts then we'll get 3 tkts free , I am sorry but this question literally drives me nuts , because have to pay for 30 pupils ist then we will get 3 free tkts , and isnt teachers go free on these tkts and rest will pay 25 each ??

Please please just explain it, as to me now its more like riddle than a maths question

I'll be soo thankful, because you are the only authentic source I have at the moment to confirm its answer.

I know 23.50 will be right answer but then i dont get it like pay for 29 then getting 3 free as it clearly says for every 10 tkt one is free ,,and only we get three tkts free if we pay for 30 ...???
